CAPE TOWN - The opening day of the inquest into Anele Tembe’s death has provided new details about what happened in the immediate aftermath of her fatal fall from a Cape Town hotel.
A neighbour who rushed to Tembe’s aid described communicating with her shortly after the fall, while police officers testified about what they found when they arrived at the scene.

The testimony also shed light on the condition of the hotel room and the interactions between police and Tembe’s fiancé, the late rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes.
The 22-year-old died in April 2021 after falling from the 10th floor of the Pepper Club Hotel.
The hearing continues on Wednesday, before taking a break and resuming next week.
