BEAUFORT WEST - Police have seized drugs worth an estimated R5.85-million during an operation on the N1 near Beaufort West in the Western Cape.
Western Cape police units carried out the operation on Thursday night, stopping and searching a vehicle travelling along the highway.

Officers discovered 57,000 mandrax tablets and 5kg of cocaine hidden inside the vehicle.
The 46-year-old driver was arrested and is expected to appear in court on Monday.
Police say the seizure forms part of ongoing efforts to disrupt the transportation and distribution of illegal drugs in the province.
