ActionSA’s Dereleen James lays charges against Sisi Tolashe

CAPE TOWN - ActionSA MP Dereleen James has pressed criminal charges against Social Development Minister Sisi Tolashe.

James accuses Tolashe of misleading Parliament about the origin of two luxury vehicles tied to the ANC Women’s League.

The controversy centres on two BAIC Beijing X55 SUVs, allegedly "donated" to the league, a claim now under scrutiny from senior ANC figures. Valued at nearly a million rand, the vehicles were never properly declared.

ActionSA alleges the cars may have been undisclosed gifts from foreign officials.

James has opened a corruption case, lodged a complaint with the Public Protector, and referred the matter to Parliament’s Ethics Committee.

She's also called on President Cyril Ramaphosa to take swift action.
