CAPE TOWN - The Parliamentary Ad Hoc Committee’s inquiry into alleged corruption and political interference in the criminal justice system gets underway on Tuesday.
First up is KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, whose explosive July media briefing exposed alleged ties between senior police officials and criminal syndicates.
Evidence leaders and MPs are set to grill Mkhwanazi as the high-stakes hearings begin.
The Committee will also assess the scale of misconduct and unethical behaviour among SAPS members and other implicated individuals or institutions, much like the work of the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.
