JOHANNESBURG - Former Bosasa chief operating officer Angelo Agrizzi has pleaded guilty to fraud and corruption.
However, Agrizzi will not serve any prison time for his involvement in the R1.88-billion tender corruption scandal.

The court accepted a plea and sentencing agreement with Agrizzi, agreeing to turn state's witness.
"In terms of this agreement, the accused pleaded guilty to three (3) counts of corruption - two of those counts of Corruption allege his contravention of section 4(1)(b) of Prevention and Combating of Corrupt Activities (PRECCA) and the third count of Corruption alleges his contravention of section 7(1)(b) of PRECCA. He also pleaded guilty to one count of Money Laundering in contravention of section 4 of the Prevention of Organised Crime Act (POCA)," the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) said in a statement.
He has been sentenced to 10 years' direct imprisonment on each one of the 4 counts (total of 40 years' direct imprisonment), which is wholly suspended for 5 years on various conditions.
