Albert Mazibuko to be remembered at memorial

LADYSMITH - Legendary South African musician and founding member of Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Albert Mazibuko, will be remembered at a memorial service on Wednesday.

Mazibuko (77) died on Monday after a short illness. A memorial service will take place next Wednesday in Durban.

The funeral will be held the following Saturday in Estcourt. Mazibuko was a founding member of the group in 1969.

He helped take its Zulu songs to the world stage, earning five Grammys. The true cultural ambassador dedicated his life to spreading peace and harmony.

The group is asking the public to keep the family in their thoughts as they celebrate Mazibuko's extraordinary life.
