Amber Lee Hughes trial adjourns to 22 May

JOHANNESBURG - The trial of preschool teacher Amber Lee Hughes, accused of raping and murdering four-year-old Nada Jane Challita, has been adjourned to 22 May.

Hughes is expected to continue testifying when the case resumes.

She has pleaded not guilty to the charges related to the January 2023 incident.

The court has heard that her relationship with the child's father was filled with frequent disputes, which may have contributed to the tragic events.
