JOHANNESBURG - The ANC has taken its fight over 181 excluded election candidates to the Constitutional Court.
The Electoral Court rejected the party's bid to have them reinstated for the November local government elections.
The party's Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula said the ANC has a strong legal case.

He argued that the exclusion could deny some voters the chance to vote for their preferred party.
“Politically, we have to stand up for this because it is disenfranchisement,” Mbalula said.
The ANC said technical glitches in the IEC’s electronic system prevented it from finalising its submissions on time. The IEC denied this, saying no technical glitches were reported.
