JOHANNESBURG - The ANC is promising to unveil its mayoral candidates for metros and major cities ahead of the upcoming municipal elections.
The party attempted this in 2016 but later abandoned it.
This comes after the Democratic Alliance announced in September that Helen Zille would be its candidate for Johannesburg.
ANC Electoral Committee Chairperson, Kgalema Motlanthe, says the party has now approved the rules and guidelines for nominating its municipal candidates.
Motlanthe says nominations for councillor candidates by branches will commence by February next year.
