Andrea Johnson nears end of marathon testimony

PRETORIA - Former Independent Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) head Andrea Johnson is expected to end her record-length testimony at the Madlanga Inquiry.

She has asked the commission to wrap up her session by 11am on Wednesday.

It has been six days of gruelling testimony with many "I cannot recall" moments.

Johnson is facing fresh questions over why she approved a probe into the SAPS Political Killings Task Team.

She conceded IDAC went beyond its mandate but insists there was no hidden agenda.

Chairperson Mbuyiseli Madlanga, however, says the answers are not adding up.

He is questioning whether Johnson knew more than she initially admitted.
