JOHANNESBURG - Another taxi association leader has been gunned down in Gauteng.
Alexandra Taxi Association chairperson Vusi Mayaba was shot dead in the parking lot of a Woodmead shopping centre on Thursday night.
Police say Mayaba and another man were approached by two gunmen armed with automatic rifles before the fatal shots were fired.
This latest killing comes just three days after two ATA officials were murdered in Midrand, raising fears of escalating tensions between rival groups in Alexandra.
No arrests have been made.
Police have opened a murder case and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
