JOHANNESBURG - Justice Sisi Khampepe, chair of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into apartheid-era crimes, is expected to provide an update on the commission’s work.
President Cyril Ramaphosa established the commission in May to investigate claims that efforts were made to block the prosecution of Truth and Reconciliation Commission cases.

With a six-month mandate, the inquiry covers the period from 2003 to the present.
Khampepe is joined by retired Judge President Frans Diale Kgomo and senior counsel Advocate Andrea Gabriel.
Families affected by unresolved apartheid-era cases are still searching for justice and many are hoping this process will finally deliver it.
