BMA steps up security at Lebombo border ahead of Easter weekend

JOHANNESBURG - High-tech equipment has been deployed to help secure the borders.

Among them are new vehicles specifically designed for the bush.

They will be used with drones to help the Border Management Authority agents.

Meanwhile, the Border Management Authority has reduced wait times at crossings from 3 hours to 30 minutes.

It says this is due to cooperation between all three spheres of government.

Thousands are crossing the Lebombo Border into Mozambique.

The BMA expects numbers to spike on Monday as travellers return.
