JOHANNESBURG - Authorities are cracking down on illegal and unregistered colleges operating in Randburg.
Deputy Higher Education Minister Mimmy Gondwe and Joburg Mayor Dada Morero are also there.
The operation comes as thousands of matriculants seek tertiary education.
Gondwe said crackdowns on bogus colleges are yielding results.
She says multiple operations across several provinces have led to illegal institutions being shut down.
Gondwe says awareness must be raised at schools as well.
"I'm happy that today we are also joined by our Career Guidance and Development Services team, CETA, to provide career guidance and credible alternatives to learners," she said.
"This reinforces that the campaign is not simply about exposing wrongdoing, but it is also about community building, restoring trust and strengthening legitimate pathways into our PSET system."
