Breaking News | Anti-Gang unit probes three counts of murder

CAPE TOWN - The South African Police Service in the Western Cape strongly condemns the senseless act of violence that claimed the lives of three men in Delft during the early hours of Sunday morning.

Anti-Gang Unit detectives have initiated an investigation into three counts of murder following a shooting incident in Sandrivier Street, Leiden, Delft, at approximately 05:30.

Preliminary reports indicate that the victims were accosted by unknown suspects who opened fire on them before fleeing the scene.

The victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel. The motive for the attack is believed to be gang-related.

Saps is also deploying more resources to the area to ensure calm is restored.

A police officer and a civilian were also shot and killed in Durban on Sunday morning.
