CAPE TOWN - Acting Police Minister, Firoz Cachalia has described KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi's press appearance in full military uniform as unacceptable.
He says such behaviour is inappropriate and deeply concerning.
Cachalia said this on Wednesday as he made his first appearance before the Ad Hoc Committee probing allegation of corruption and political interference in the criminal justice system.

According to the Acting Minister, Mkhwanazi's appearance before the public 'worried him' even more so questioned the manner in which such information was made public.
This as he argues that ordinarily professional conduct requires respect for the structure of authority."
"I said at the time which I maintain is correct, that kind of public statement was not in the ordinary situation or appropriate because the police have a command structure, has a national commissioner and there is a minister, the president and so forth," he said.
