Calls for independent probe of Philippi Police College

CAPE TOWN - A former police captain says he was fired for exposing corruption and financial mismanagement at the Philippi Police Training Academy.

Alroy Krigga says his actions cost him his job, but those implicated suffered no penalties.

There are growing calls for an independent probe into the alleged corruption and abuse at the academy.

Especially after it was alleged on social media that trainees were being forced to pay a thousand rand for uniforms that should be issued to them but police claim this isn’t true.

eNCA's Nobesuthu Hejana reports in the video above.
