PRETORIA - Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala is due to testify before the Madlanga Commission on Wednesday.
But on Monday, he is making an appearance at the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court.
The magistrate had rejected a plea and sentencing agreement in the SAPS tender fraud case.
The court turned down the State’s proposed eight-year prison sentence, indicating that a 12-year term would be more appropriate.

Matlala will have to choose whether to accept the tougher sentence.
Should he refuse, the plea agreement could collapse and the matter may proceed to trial.
In the plea deal Matlala had agreed to testify against several individuals.
