JOHANNESBURG - The trial of businessman Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala and his co-accused is expected to run for 30 days.
This was revealed when Matlala, alongside his wife Tsakane and three other co-accused, appeared before the Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg.
The accused face 25 charges, including attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, money laundering, fraud and defeating the ends of justice.
In court, Judge Cassim Moosa said the matter is destined to sit from 20 July 2026 up until 7 August 2026.
"The next dates that the court is going to be sitting as proposed by counsel for accused number one is from Monday, the 31st of August 2026, up until Friday, the 18th of September 2026.
"It is undisputed, clear and unambiguous when one refers to the court roll that this matter is set down for 30 days," he said.
