Charlotte Maxeke faces meal shortage after food supplier shut down

JOHANNESBURG - Patients at Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital are relying on relatives to bring them food.

This after the hospital's food supplier was recently shut down after E.coli was found in its meals.

According to reports, the hospital's kitchen can provide breakfast and supper, but is unable to supply plated food lunches for patients.

The supplier in question provides meals at six hospitals and 17 Community Health Centres in Gauteng.
