PIETERMARITZBURG - Two suspects have been shot dead in a shootout with police in the Edendale area of uMgungundlovu District.
Police were chasing the suspects linked to Monday's cash-in-transit robbery in Verulam.
Members of the public alerted a security company after robbers made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
They reported explosions on Old Inanda Road in Brindhaven.
On arrival, the security team was confronted by heavily armed suspects and there was a shootout.
