A city under siege | Lockdown bringing some relief in Cape Town

CAPE TOWN - Western Cape police say a few incidents of crime have been reported in Cape Town areas under lockdown.

But shootings continue in other areas.

At least four mass shootings and multiple deaths were reported in just 24 hours this weekend.

One mass shooting took place in Kraafontein on Saturday, down the road from where provincial police chief Thembisile Patekile was attending a crime imbizo.

Police, politicians and civil society organisations agree that police cannot fight crime alone, and that affected communities must also play their part.
