BHISHO - The University of Fort Hare saga has come up at the Madlanga Commission.

Both KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi and his boss, Fannie Masemola, have raised allegations of fraud and corruption that are believed to have contributed to the killing of two university staff members.
But prominent Cape Town forensic investigator Sarah Burger says she's willing to tell all if the inquiry is prepared to hear her side of this story.
"You live a daily life of high anxiety, and you come off that platform and you think everything is going to be okay, but there has been so much destruction, like a wrecking ball in your life," she said.
Sarah Burger has reflected on the past 18 months as she tries to make sense of why she and another Cape Town lawyer, Bradley Conradie, were arrested.
She argues that her company, Horizon Forensic, which provided services at Fort Hare University for four years, were instrumental in exposing rampant fraud and corruption.
Burger said, "Both Bradley Conradie and I are willing to testify at the Madlanga Commission. We both submitted statements two weeks ago because of the highly publicised Fort Hare matter that we were involved in. And the involvement in the political killings task team. We haven't received confirmation of those statements yet, but we are following up, and I think we can add quite a bit of value to the workings of the political killings task team and effects on the NPA."
Burger is one of the service providers and a former staff member accused of siphoning off over R170-million in dodgy contracts with Fort Hare.
It is alleged that senior staff colluded with service providers so they could benefit from kickbacks.
Since charges against her were withdrawn in July, she has threatened to sue the state and the police.
Burger said, "I know for a fact that there are certain half-truths that have been spoken in that commission. And I am looking forward to that cross-examination. I am really looking forward to the Madlanga Commission inviting me to come and speak because I want to share some of my views, in particular, to rebut some of the allegations, again, only in the Fort Hare matter, that the political task team did not have access to that docket or work on it. I have evidence to the contrary."
