Climate change | KZN plans to streamline disaster response

DURBAN - The KwaZulu-Natal government wants to streamline its planning and response to climate change.

The province's climate change and sustainable development council met to thrash out a number of proposals to mitigate the impact.

Natural disasters, mainly floods and mudslides, have killed hundreds of people in KwaZulu-Natal in recent years.

The provincial government admits it needs a substantial amount of money and has appealed to the private sector for assistance.
