JOHANNESBURG - Closing arguments in the Nada-Jane Chalita murder trial are expected to be heard.
Former preschool teacher Amber-Lee Hughes stands accused of murdering the 4-year-old girl in 2023.

In July 2025, Hughes confessed to drowning Nada-Jane but continues to deny the rape charge.
She faces charges of both murder and rape.
Her lawyers are expected to present arguments on the rape charge.
Hughes was arrested last year after the child was found dead in a bathtub.
