JOHANNESBURG - Three alleged cop killers have been killed and two others arrested in the Eastern Cape.
They are suspected of killing two police officers in Libode near Mthatha.
Police activated a 72-hour plan to trace the killers of officers Thando Magoxo and Ntlahla Tyhali.
The officers, aged 52 and 32, were from the Mthatha National Intervention Unit and the Public Order Policing Unit.
They were killed while responding to an armed robbery at a local spaza shop.
Police recovered an AK47 rifle and three handguns during the shootout.
