JOHANNESBURG - Nine police officers are appearing in the Johannesburg magistrate's court following their arrest in a Hawks corruption investigation.
They’re accused of extortion, corruption and trespassing after allegedly attempting to solicit money during a warehouse search in Crown Mines.
Investigations have also revealed that some officers acted outside their jurisdiction.
In a separate case, four more officers are facing theft and extortion charges in the Kempton Park magistrate's court for a 2024 incident.
Gauteng Hawks head Ebrahim Kadwa says more arrests could follow.
