BRITS - Police have cracked down on a multimillion-rand mandrax manufacturing lab near Hartbeespoort Dam in North West on Tuesday.
Four suspects have been arrested, with firearms also seized during the operation.
Authorities, officials of Hartbeespoort Dam SAPS Crime Prevention, received information regarding illegal activities at the property.
According to North West police spokesperson Adéle Myburgh, upon arrival, they found three females and one male.
“A search of the premises uncovered what appeared to be a drug laboratory, with processed drugs, a drug production mixture and equipment allegedly used in the manufacturing of drugs," she said.
Myburgh said the suspects arrested include a 39-year-old male and three females aged between 23 and 29.
The suspects have since been charged with possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, as well as dealing and manufacturing of drugs.
They are expected to appear before the Brits Magistrate’s Court soon.
