Cosas 4 trial to begin after years of delays

JOHANNESBURG - After years of delays, the Cosas 4 trial is set to begin at the Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg.

The trial stems from the 1982 murder of anti-apartheid activists Eustice Madikela, Peter Matabane, Fanyana Nhlapo and Zandisile Musi.

Apartheid police lured the teenagers to a pump house near Krugersdorp under the false promise of military training.

They detonated an explosive device, killing Madikela, Matabane and Nhlapo, and severely injuring Musi.

Former Security Branch officers Christiaan Rorich and Thlomedi Mfalapitsa face charges of murder and crimes against humanity.
