PIETERMARITZBURG - The fraud and corruption trial against former President Jacob Zuma and Thales will start on 1 February 2027.
The case is set to run two terms.
The KwaZulu-Natal High Court in Pietermaritzburg ruled on Thursday that the case would finally proceed without any further delays.
Zuma and the arms manufacturer were indicted on fraud and corruption charges in 2005. The trial was due to start in 2006.

However, persistent delays tactics by Zuma led to an almost two-decade stagnation of the trial.
Zuma, who was absent on Thursday, will appear with a representative of Thales, formerly known as Thint.
The case has been plagued by repeated delays over the past 21 years.
On Thursday, the High Court in Pietermaritzburg ruled that the trial will proceed without further delay.
