PRETORIA - The High Court in Pretoria has denied the state’s bid to question accused 1 in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial on a confession his co-accused allegedly made.

The state wanted to cross-examine Muzi Sibiya based on Bongani Ntanzi's alleged confession.

But defence lawyers argue that Ntanzi’s statements cannot be used to implicate other accused.

Cross-examination will proceed after the court hands down the judgment this morning.

Sibiya has repeatedly denied playing any role in Meyiwa's 2014 killing in Vosloorus.
