PRETORIA - The Democratic Alliance has condemned a Tshwane Council vote which resulted in the suspension of city manager Johann Mettler.
A DA statement accuses the council speaker of vote rigging and threatens court action.
The party says 13 votes from DA and Freedom Front councillors were unlawfully deducted.
According to the DA, the removal of the disputed votes allowed the proposed suspension of Mettler to succeed.

The EFF had laid a 45-page complaint against Mettler.
Accusations include financial mismanagement and dismissing 44 striking municipal workers unfairly.
The City of Tshwane says Mettler's suspension is precautionary and on full pay as it investigates the matter.
eNCA has been reliably informed that Mettler will challenge his suspension in court on an urgent basis.
