JOHANNESBURG - The Democratic Alliance plans to lay criminal charges against Higher Education Minister Nobuhle Nkabane, accusing her of lying to Parliament.
The move comes just days after President Cyril Ramaphosa fired DA deputy minister, Andrew Whitfield, for not following protocol and asking permission for an overseas trip.
The DA says the decision was politically motivated.
In response, the DA withdrew from the National Dialogue and is now acting against Nkabane.
The party plans to open a criminal case at the Cape Town Central Police Station on Tuesday morning, ahead of Nkabane’s budget debate in the NCOP.
