JOHANNESBURG - Johannesburg mayor Dada Morero will meet finance minister Enoch Godongwana on Friday.
Morero requested the meeting after National Treasury raised concerns over the state of the metro's finances. Morero has denied that Joburg's finances are in dire straits.
"The city is not bankrupt, we're still able to pay all our commitments on a month-to-month basis," he told eNCA.

"We're still paying our salaries, we're still paying our suppliers, we're still paying our loans that we've borrowed. We are not a bankrupt city. Our bank account is still fine, we're still managing."
