JOHANNESBURG - Popular broadcaster and businessman Sbusiso Leope, popularly known as DJ Sbu, has denied benefiting from Ekurhuleni Municipality grants after being implicated at the Madlanga Commission.
In his testimony before the Commission on Monday, suspended Ekurhuleni head of the legal unit, advocate Kemi Behari, said Leope and his business partner, ANC leader Thembinkosi ‘TK’ Nciza were one of the key beneficiaries of the Ekurhuleni Municipality grants.
According to Behari, Leope and Nciza were implicated in an investigation related to more than R100-million grants.

However, in a detailed statement on his social media platforms, Leope dismissed the allegations.
Leope claimed this was to divert attention from internal accountability issues within the metro.
He said he will cooperate with any lawful, evidence-based investigation.
“These allegations, which attempt to implicate myself and businessman Thembinkosi TK Nciza, are entirely false, defamatory, and without any factual basis. I categorically deny any involvement in wrongdoing, misconduct, or unethical activity of any kind,” Leope wrote on X.
