DURBAN - More incidents of men and women in blue assaulting civilians are emerging.
A Durban police officer is in hot water after he was caught on camera slapping a man.
The video has since gone viral on social media.
The KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner has ordered a probe into the incident.
Nhalnhla Mkhwanazi also wants immediate disciplinary action to be taken.
He says this type of behaviour is reversing the gains of hard-working officers.
He says such unprofessional conduct is tainting the police's image and plummeting public trust in the service.
The incident comes just weeks after a cop was captured slapping a civilian at an Ekurhuleni station.
She's also facing disciplinary action.
