Eastern Cape pupils brave the cold to write exams

DUTYWA - A scathing Human Rights Commission report laid bare the harsh conditions pupils face at schools nationwide.

The Eastern Cape is no exception.

At Vulingcobo High School in Dutwya, hundreds of pupils are forced to write exams outside their classrooms.

Appeals to provincial education authorities for proper infrastructure have long gone unanswered.

Meanwhile, Basic Education Minister Siviwe Gwarube visited Jeffrey’s Bay and surrounding areas on Monday.

The minister issued a stern warning to contractors who fail to deliver on their promises.

  • eNCA's Ronald Masinda visited the school and filed this report.
