Ekurhuleni Murders | Dawn Park accused alleges police forced her to confess to cousin's murder

JOHANNESBURG - The first accused in Jabulile Ntimba's murder case claims police tortured her into confessing the to the murder.

Fortunate Masilela and Tsakani Nester Msithini appeared at the Boksburg Magistrate's Court on Thursday. The pair had appeared in court for their bail hearing.

Masilela alleged that Ntimba is her cousin.

"Police came back to my place and forced me to confess," Masilela said through her lawyer.

"The torture was so severe I ended up saying I killed the deceased with my sister," she said.

They face charges for premeditated murder and defeating the ends of justice. Ntimba's body was discovered wrapped in a sheet in Dawn Park, Boksburg two weekends ago.

Her body was the ninth found across Ekurhuleni since July.

Three people were initially arrested for Ntimba's murder. One of the suspects was let go, leaving the two women to stand for the charges.
