JOHANNESBURG - Emfuleni Municipality is facing renewed scrutiny over years of discharging raw sewage into the Vaal River.
It's appearing in the Vereeniging Magistrate’s Court accused of contaminating one of Gauteng’s most vital water sources.
The municipality faces seven charges linked to water pollution and breaches of environmental legislation.
The National Prosecuting Authority warns of more charges to follow.
