JOHANNESBURG - Eskom has initiated legal processes to interrupt power to about 14 defaulting municipalities.
This is due to the massive, unpaid debt, with total municipal arrears exceeding R110 billion.
The power utility is issuing notices for potential power cuts and has already initiated load reduction for 40 other municipalities, causing 12 hours of daily power outages.
