eThekwini sewage crisis | Action SA, DA drag city to court

DURBAN - The DA and Action SA are taking the eThekwini Municipality to court over the ongoing sewage crisis.

The case has been set down for two days at the High Court in Durban.

It follows separate legal actions launched by the DA and ActionSA more than two years ago.

The parties blame the crisis on years of neglect and failure to maintain infrastructure.

The metro claims it's due to flood damage and limited repair budgets.

The crisis has seen raw sewage flow into rivers and the ocean, at times leading to beach closures.
