PRETORIA - The European Union has reaffirmed its commitment to deepen relations with South Africa.
European Council President António Costa made a phone call to President Cyril Ramaphosa amid a fallout with the US.
Costa vowed to strengthen relations with its stable and reliable partner.

He also pledged full support to the country's Presidency of the G20.
Costa says he hopes to bolster the relations at the EU-South Africa Summit next month.
Ramaphosa says he's looking forward to working with the bloc to tackle pressing global challenges.
He says they share the same values of democracy, human rights, dignity and equality.
