JOHANNESBURG - Today marks International Workers’ Day.
Commonly known as May Day, it pays tribute to the struggles of workers and the fight for fair labour practices.
Events are being held across the country to reflect on progress made in advancing worker rights.
Trade unions will also be highlighting ongoing problems in the workplace.
The day is also a pause to reflect on the high number of those without jobs.
President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to speak at Cosatu's main rally in Middelburg in Mpumalanga.
