EXCLUSIVE | Mandela Bay EMS operators caught sleeping on the job

NELSON MANDELA BAY - Emergency services are on high alert around the country. Well, except for Nelson Mandela Bay.

Emergency service operators there have been caught sleeping on night shift.
Yolene Solomon-Bason, a Kariega activist, was made aware of the situation by a resident seeking help. Solomon-Bason then took the matter up with senior health officials.

Eastern Cape health admits there is a problem and is promising to investigate.

"I think most importantly I think it's important to apologise. These queries have been coming to us."

Eastern Cape Health MEC spokesperson, Camagwini Mavovana, says that the department has responded to the crisis by posting some new numbers for emergency services on social media.
