MUSINA - The Border Management Authority (BMA) has intercepted explosive cables hidden inside a sack of rice at the Beitbridge Port of Entry.
Border guards flagged the suspicious luggage during routine checks on a Malawi-registered bus on Saturday afternoon.
A Malawian national was subsequently arrested and remains in custody at the Musina Police Station.
Authorities confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine both the origin and the intended destination of the explosive material.
