JOHANNESBURG - Eastern Cape extortionists are extending their reach into rural areas.
A stark example has emerged at Dalibhunga Senior Secondary School in Ngqeleni, where teachers found a threatening note.
The group is demanding a monthly 'protection fee' of R1,000 from each teacher.
The gang's chilling warning includes claims of police collusion, and explicit threats to the teachers' lives if they don't pay.
eNCA senior reporter, Aviwe Mtila, has visited the school.
