PRETORIA - Member of Parliament (MP) Fadiel Adams is expected to appear at the Madlanga Commission on 11 August.
The commission's spokesperson, Jeremy Michaels, confirmed that he was issued with a notice in October last year.
"This commission is a fact-finding mission; Yes, there are serious consequences which continue to flow from the work of the commission. But our job is to investigate allegations made by Nhlanla Mkhwanazi on 6 July last year. Those allegations have a profound implication on South Africa as a country and out communities..." Michaels said.
Michaels said that, as the commission goes about its work, it must consider its legal framework, which includes ensuring that the inquiry is fair and that it conducts its business in a manner that also gives those implicated persons a chance to respond to allegations against them.
Adams was arrested and released on R10,000 bail in May.
He faces charges of fraud and defeating the ends of justice.
The charges relate to alleged interference in high-profile political killing investigations.
