Families seek help to repatriate Bekkersdal shooting victims

JOHANNESBURG - Families of the Lesotho victims of the Bekkersdal mass shooting is pleading for help.

They want government's help to repatriate the bodies of their loved ones.

Ten patrons were killed and nine others injured in the attack.

"From the list we have, seven are South African and two are non-South African, they’re from Lesotho," said Kgalalelo Moleme.

"The Boipone family would like assistance from government with the repatriation process of the deceased to Lesotho."

The SAPS has identified persons of interest in the shooting.

Major General Fred Kekana says two people will be brought in for questioning.

Authorities say the community could help them net more suspects.

"The current status is that, with the assistance of the community, there are already two who have been identified."
