Farmers take govt to court over FMD vaccine policy

JOHANNESBURG - Farmers and agriculture organisations are taking the government to court.

They're challenging a policy that blocks private procurement of FMD vaccines.

The urgent hearing in the North Gauteng High Court seeks an interdict stopping the state from preventing farmers from administering approved FMD vaccines.

The groups also want the court to prevent government from interfering in agreements between licensed vaccine importers and their suppliers.
