JOHANNESBURG - A relative of axed Crime Intelligence deputy head Feroz Khan has been shot dead on the R21 towards the OR Tambo International Airport.
Khan's uncle-in-law, Preggy Padayachee, was shot dead on Monday night.
The incident began after Padayachee's car reportedly broke down along the highway and he called a friend for assistance.
The friend arrived at the scene with two other people. Shortly afterwards, gunmen opened fire on the group.

As they attempted to flee the attack, the Padayachee lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a barrier.
He died at the scene.
One of the passengers was wounded in the shooting and was rushed to hospital for treatment.
A third person managed to escape unharmed.
Police have yet to make any arrests. The motive for the shooting remains unknown.
